An exceptional chef, a virtuoso of flavors

At La Bastide de Damien, the cuisine is in keeping with the standards of a grand establishment.
After 28 years at the helm of Les Trois Forts, the iconic restaurant of the five-star Sofitel Marseille hotel, Dominique Frérard chose to bring his talent and high standards here. A Maître Cuisinier de France and former Michelin-starred chef, he has created a precise and personal style of cuisine for La Bastide, drawing on his experience, the ingredients and the time taken to prepare each dish. Each menu is designed as a creation in its own right, conceived to accompany your stay with precision and sincerity.

One kitchen, several locations

Within the estate, Dominique Frérard‘s cuisine can be enjoyed wherever you choose to be.

Whether in the village square, in the privacy of your own garden, in the restaurant, or in the comfort of your room, each meal is a personal experience, sheltered from the world and prying eyes.

This unique approach, where gastronomy adapts to the place and the moment, is part of a constant quest for freedom and privacy.

We are delighted that our restaurant has been awarded the ‘Table Remarquable’ rating in the Teritoria guide, under the aegis of Alain Ducasse.

Culinary experiences must be booked in advance.

A dialogue between taste and emotion

In the shade of a hundred-year-old olive tree or in the tranquillity of a private space, the dishes arrive discreetly, prepared by a kitchen that pays close attention to the seasons and the authenticity of the produce.

Chef Dominique Frérard cooks as one writes: by subtracting rather than adding. He prefers precision to spectacle, depth to noise. A gastronomy that does not seek immediate effect, but memory.

Here, the menu is enjoyed away from the hustle and bustle, in the gentle setting of unspoilt Provence, nourished by a demanding selection of regional products, sourced from short supply chains and trusted local producers.

The flavours are in harmony with the location. The olive oil captures the light of the South, the herbs evoke the neighbouring hills, and the cooking is mastered to perfection.

At La Bastide de Damien, gastronomy is not staged.
It fits naturally into the landscape, as if it were obvious… a harmony of flavours for discerning palates.
